KOREA POST TOWER
The proposal was designed as a landmark that aligns with two key characteristics of its site: Yoido’s vibrant urban spaces and sustainable urban environments. The building was set back as far from the street as possible allowing maximum space to be designated as a public plaza. The public programs throughout the first four floors are showcased to the exterior plaza through a 20-meter-tall transparent grand lobby resulting in an ultra-public pedestrian-friendly complex with unprecedented civic and asset values.
The 28-story landmark tower was designed to exceed prime office space specifications, including higher IBS standards, wide column-free work spaces, generous ceiling heights, competitive usable floor area ratios and many sustainability features that guarantee a low life cycle cost. Especially, the building façade features a high-performance GFRC louver-integrated-curtainwall- system that is optimized to simultaneously provide maximum shading performance in directions with high solar exposure and striking views in the direction of the Han River.
