We are excited to announce that H Architecture, in collaboration with Haeahn Architecture, has been selected as the winner of the international design competition for the new Gangseo-gu Government Complex in Seoul, South Korea. Our joint proposal, "Gangseo Jingyeong" (The Scenery of Gangseo), was chosen for its innovative interpretation of traditional Korean landscape art, blending natural elements with modern urban design to create an open, park-like administrative complex.
The winning design was lauded by the judging panel for its maximized openness, functional and efficient office spaces, and adaptable layout for future expansion. Key features include a civic-centric cultural complex, transparent and open communal areas, a rational basement plan, extensive public amenities, and a courtyard-style smart office designed to enhance productivity. This significant win awards HAEAHN Architecture the priority negotiation rights for the basic and detailed design phases, underscoring our collective expertise in creating landmark public spaces that foster community and embody future-oriented smart city principles. The new integrated town hall, which will house the district office, council, and public health center, is set for completion in 2026 and aims to resolve long-standing issues of dispersed services and outdated facilities.
