The New Jinju National Museum is located in Jinju, South Korea, and was designed by H Architecture in collaboration with Haeahn Architecture. Situated in a historically significant city, the museum is envisioned as a cultural anchor that connects the region’s heritage with its evolving civic identity. The project aims to go beyond a conventional institutional presence, positioning the museum as an open and accessible public destination that contributes meaningfully to the urban fabric.

The design is guided by two central concepts: “Museum as City” and “Museum as Stage.” The first organizes the museum’s interior as a sequence of interconnected spaces that mirror the experience of moving through a city—galleries, courtyards, and gathering zones blend indoor and outdoor elements to encourage everyday engagement. The second concept transforms the museum into a dynamic setting for immersive exhibitions, where architectural space plays an active role in storytelling. Rather than isolating artifacts, the design fosters interaction between objects, visitors, and spatial context, establishing the museum as both a cultural platform and a civic stage.
